MESQUITE, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) - Homelessness is no longer just a big city concern. The crisis is also reaching into the suburbs, with the numbers of youth experiencing homelessness on the rise.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Me and my older son was living in a homeless shelter. I was asked a very challenging question from my caseworker. What do you want to do? So I had no idea. No one had never asked me this question before. So I had to think about this overnight. There was a park that I took my son to. I notice they had a Youth Center behind it, my so was too young to join it, but I took a short tour of the facility, I liked what I saw. I couldn’t help but think about my life growing up and I thought about the shelter I was living in, how they had life skills, parenthood classes, budgeting classes, mandatory canceling, etc.

Friends and supporters, as well as the young men and women who attend Raising The Bridge, gathered in June at Emmanuel Pentecostal Church in Mesquite for a 5-year anniversary event.
